Furnishings provider Baker Furnishings has reported a return to revenue regardless of a decline in turnover.
In response to its newest filed accounts for the 12 months ended 31 March 2024, complete gross sales fell 20% to £18m from £22.5m in 2023.
UK gross sales have been down 15.7% to £15.5m from £18.4m, whereas EU gross sales fell 41.4% to £2.4m from £4.1m.
Pre-tax revenue resulted at £406,000, bettering from its lack of £359,000 recorded within the earlier 12 months.
Acknowledged inside its report, Baker stated: “The corporate has continued to focus upon business ranges at aggressive costs. While the corporate’s provide chain settled down throughout the 12 months, the results of the cost-of-living disaster coupled with the inevitable slowdown in commerce following the submit Covid bubble resulted in a drop in turnover.
“The change fee was a lot improved upon the horrors of the earlier 12 months and the price of carriage from the Far East eased again from the acute prices of the earlier 12 months which means that the Gross Margin was improved from 19% to 26%.”
